Colombia has a resilient economy with a proven track record of sound management by centrist governments. In spite of its 30-year civil war and the disruption caused by the drug trade, Colombia managed to outgrow most Latin American economies over the last generation. Moreover, it achieved this success without defaulting on foreign debt.
