A quick glance at the top 20 merger and acquisition deals across Latin America in the first quarter of 2004 provides a telling barometer of investment trends in the region. One of the deals involved a US buyer. Seven were investments made by European firms and 12 were purchases or public offerings by Latin American enterprises. All signs point to a continuation of this trend for the rest of this year and into 2005.
