The 10th year anniversary of the NAFTA has brought out of the closet both pundit and critic to tout the virtues and shortcomings of the world’s largest trade agreement. Even the often-maligned Carlos Salinas de Gotari braved a media event with his old chums George Bush Senior and former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. Since January 1st, every major newspaper in the region has filled its op-ed pages with attacks and counter attacks concerning the agreement. Most of the debate has focused on the effects of the NAFTA on Mexico, which everyone seems to agree has been the most affected party to the tri-lateral trade agreement.
