 Latin America is losing faith in the Bush administration, which has failed to deliver on its promises of deeper political commitment and greater economic cooperation. The election of George W. Bush as president generated heightened expectations throughout the region as leaders embraced the promise of hemispheric free trade supported by a US President committed to the FTAA.
