Operating in a world of poorly-designed and inconsistently-enforced regulations
In Latin America, “rule of law” is a relative term ranging from strict enforcement to flagrant evasion. Ground transportation is an old-fashioned sector riddled with political interests and characterized by a labyrinth of arcane regulations and inconsistent enforcement. Understanding this regulatory maze is vital to the profitability of any new logistics player that attempts to compete in ground logistics either using its own assets or those of a local subcontractor.
